NextGen Global Initiative (NeGI) is a youth-led nonprofit organization registered in Kenya with a mission to empower, mentor, and transform young lives and communities. Driven by a vision of a generational shift in leadership, character, and social responsibility, NeGI works across schools, universities, colleges, and underserved communities to nurture holistic development in youth, children, and families. It is built on a foundation of integrity, inclusiveness, accountability, and service to humanity, with a strong belief that the next generation must be equipped today to lead tomorrow, with decency, equity, etiquette, decorum and discipline.
The formation of NeGI responds to critical challenges facing Kenyan society and the globe. With youth comprising the largest segment of the population, unemployment, underdevelopment, and lack of mentorship have left many young people disoriented and disempowered. School dropouts, drug and substance abuse, early pregnancies, and mental health struggles continue to affect both urban and rural youth. Through school-based peer mentorship clubs, life skills training, leadership development, and psychosocial support, NeGI addresses these pressing needs with relevant, impactful programs tailored to the Kenyan context.
In addition to empowering the youth, NeGI champions the rights and well-being of children and adolescents by distributing school supplies, offering educational support, and advocating for girls’ dignity through menstrual hygiene and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (SRHR) training. The organization’s efforts are especially critical in marginalized areas where access to basic education and mentorship is limited. NeGI also engages parents, teachers, and community leaders in shaping environments that nurture values, discipline, and purpose among young people.
By promoting peacebuilding, gender equality, mental health awareness, environmental conservation, and community development, NeGI plays a vital role in shaping a more just and hopeful society. Its structure—comprising a committed leadership team, trained volunteers, and active school networks—ensures programs are both scalable and sustainable. In partnership with stakeholders from civil society, education, government, and faith-based institutions, NeGI stands as a beacon of transformation, responding directly to the gaps in Kenya’s social, educational, and leadership landscape.”
We envision an informed, transformed, and inclusive society where youth, children, and vulnerable individuals are empowered to thrive. It’s a future where emotional well-being is paramount, and every life is lived with purpose, balance, and dignity, unlocking boundless potential.
Our mission is to actively reach out and uplift communities globally. We empower children, students, youth, and marginalized communities through comprehensive mentorship, vital mental health support and awareness, dynamic leadership training, essential education sponsorship, and inclusive programs. Through these initiatives, we champion personal growth, enhance social well-being, and ensure equal opportunities for all.
NeGI addresses critical societal challenges through a series of impactful, targeted programs currently implemented across Nairobi, Kiambu, Makueni, Turkana, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kakamega, and Mombasa counties.
