Volunteer Recruitment Criteria: What We Look For

To ensure a meaningful and impactful experience for both our volunteers and the communities we serve, we have specific criteria for recruitment. We’re seeking individuals who embody our values and are committed to positive social change.

  • 1. Alignment with Vision and Values

    • You must genuinely commit to NeGI’s mission, vision, and core values. We’re looking for individuals who are deeply passionate about community service, youth empowerment, and driving positive social change. Your heart should be in our cause!
  • 2. Minimum Age Requirement

    • Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
    • For our younger supporters (ages 15–17), we welcome junior volunteers with parental/guardian consent, though roles may be limited to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • 3. Availability and Commitment

    • We ask for a minimum service commitment (e.g., 3-6 months or project-based), allowing you to truly integrate and contribute to our programs.
    • Your willingness to attend all required orientation, training sessions, and team meetings is essential for effective collaboration.
  • 4. Skills and Experience

    • Possessing relevant skills or experience in areas like mentoring, communication, teaching, logistics, or counseling is a definite asset.
    • However, a strong willingness to learn and grow through our training is equally important for those without prior experience. We believe in nurturing potential!
  • 5. Good Character and Conduct

    • We require at least two references or a recommendation from a trusted source (e.g., teacher, religious leader, employer).
    • A background check may be required, particularly for roles involving vulnerable populations like children, to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
  • 6. Teamwork and Communication

    • You should be able to work effectively in a team and follow instructions clearly.
    • Good communication skills and a respectful attitude are fundamental to our collaborative environment.
  • 7. Cultural Sensitivity and Respect for Diversity

    • Demonstrating openness and respect for different cultures, religions, and backgrounds is paramount.
    • We uphold values of inclusivity and equality, and expect our volunteers to be non-discriminatory in their approach.
  • 8. Health and Physical Ability (Role-Dependent)

    • You must be physically and mentally able to perform the assigned tasks for your chosen role.

    • Must share similar values, goals, or objectives with NextGen Global Initiative.
    • Should demonstrate a commitment to youth empowerment, community development, education, sustainability, or social impact.

  • Must be a legally registered organization, institution, or business.
  • Should operate transparently and adhere to ethical standards and national/international laws.
  1. Capacity and Experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver programs or services in relevant sectors.
  • Proven experience in implementing or supporting community-based initiatives or advocacy.
  1. Contribution to the Partnership
  • Willingness to contribute resources (financial, material, technical, or human) to support shared initiatives.
  • Open to co-branding, shared visibility, and collaborative programming.
  1. Sustainability and Commitment
  • Should be committed to long-term engagement and sustainability of joint initiatives.
  • Ability to provide regular reports and updates on partnership activities.
  1. Reputation and Impact
  • A positive track record and good standing in the community or industry.
  • Demonstrated impact through past or ongoing programs.
  1. Non-Discrimination and Inclusivity
  • Must uphold principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • No history of discriminatory, exploitative, or unethical practices.
